本課程為一學年之課程，上學期以戲曲劇本為範圍，下學期為西洋戲劇劇本的導讀，為一年級選修課程。上學期課程精選傳統與當代經典的戲曲作品，兼及認識不同的中國戲曲劇種。因此除文本選讀外，亦輔以影音(VCD、DVD)教學。通過劇本閱讀與分析，希冀同學能對於戲曲的發展兼有廣度與深度的認識，並鍛鍊中國古典戲劇劇本創作的基本功。
Course description
This course is a full year selective class. The first semester, we will focus on the Chinese opera scripts. As the second semester, the western plays will be introduced. Various Chinese traditional and contemporaneous scripts will be introduced during the first semester. In addition to the class textbook, additional media such VCD and DVD be used.
Course objective
Through the reading and analysis of those selected scripts, we hope to broaden the students' views on the Chinese opera's development.

一、本課程係本系一年級同學選修中西之戲劇劇本導讀之基礎課程，藉由中西方戲劇史，各時期劇本創作的形式與結構構成與發展、代表性劇本的導讀過程，讓同學初步了解中西戲劇史之脈絡與劇本的形式與結構構成的內涵等知識。
二、上學期以戲曲劇本為範圍，上學期課程精選傳統與當代經典的戲曲作品，兼及認識不同的中國戲曲劇種。因此除文本選讀外，亦輔以影音(VCD、DVD)教學。
下學期為西洋戲劇劇本的導讀，為一年級選修課程。本課程以導讀（經典西洋戲劇劇本：希臘劇本、莎士比亞戲劇、現代西方戲劇劇本等）為專業教學內容。
三、課程學習完成後，學生將通過（期末筆式及完成分組口頭分析劇本報告等）作為期末學習考核，以達到了解中西戲劇史之發展及中西劇本分析能力。
